Comment
If the offender is aregistered candidate, in addition to the penalties listed above, his/herregistration shall be cancelled and he/she shall be disqualified for the exerciseof public office for a period of 1 – 3 years. If the offender is alreadyelected at the time when the offence is proved, he/she shall not be allowed tooccupy the post for which he/she has been elected.
