PART XIX

Rules for the Counting of the Votes

125.—(1) Any candidate or the election agentof a candidate may, at the conclusion of any count, request the returningofficer to re-examine and recount all or any of the papers dealt with duringthat count, and the returning officer shall re-examine and recount such papersaccordingly without making any alterations in the arrangement of the papers inthe various parcels, save where such alterations may be necessary inconsequence of any error discovered in the recount. Nothing in this subsectionshall make it obligatory on the returning officer to re-examine or recount thesame parcel of papers more than once.

D?il Election Petitions

132.— (4) A petition may be presented by anyperson who is registered or entitled to be registered as a D?il elector in theconstituency but may only be presented within a period specified in Rule 3of the Third Schedule .

Third Schedule

1. Without prejudice to section 132 (4),where it appears to the Director of Public Prosecutions that a D?il electionmay have been affected by the commission of electoral offences, he may questionthe election pursuant to this Act.
