Legal basis for administrative requirements at the national level

Constitutionaland Other Polls Act 1993 section 3 simply applies general election law to anyconstitutional referendum, along with any ad hoc regulations which thegovernment wishes to add.

Section4 similarly provides for electoral qualifications for optional polls (same asfor general elections) and a general power for the government to make ad hocregulations.
