HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY (ELECTIONS) ACT 14 of 1951, CHAPTER 2:01

Section 66:

“Every election petition shall be tried beforethe High Court in the same manner as a suit commenced by a writ of summons. Atthe conclusion of the trial, the Judge shall determine whether the member ofthe House of Assembly whose return or election is complained of or any and whatother person was duly returned or elected, or whether the election was void, and shall certify the determinationto the President, and, upon the certificate being given, the determinationshall be final; and the return shall beconfirmed or altered, or a writ for a new election shall be issued, as thecase may require, in accordance with the determination.”
