Article280. Any person who by the use of violenceor the threat of seriously detrimental consequences prevents a voter fromexercising his right to vote or to sign a petition requesting a referendum orinitiative, and

 

anyperson who by the use of violence or the threat of seriously detrimental consequencescoerces a voter into exercising his voting rights or into voting in aparticular way,

isliable to a custodial sentence not exceeding three years or to a monetarypenalty.
