Legal basis for direct democracy at the national level

Article1 and 9 of the Constitutional Law on Referendum (1995) provides for optionalreferenda.

Article98 and 99 of the Constitution provide for mandatory referenda.

TheConstitutional Law on Referendum provides the legal basis for theadministrative requirements for referendums.
