Rank-order rules

The lists of candidates referred to in the previous article are those submitted by political parties, coalitions of political parties and independent candidates. They are alternately composed of the names of candidates of both sexes. On the lists of candidates referred to in the previous paragraph, the sex of the candidate shall be mentioned through his or her title, “ Madam or Mister “. (Parity Law, Article 3)

For the uninominal elections, the titular candidate shall be of a different sex from that of the substitute candidate. (Parity Law, Article 5)
