Electoral law quota details

The list of candidates for the municipal and wilaya popular assemblies must include a number of candidates greater than three (3) than the number of seats to be filled in electoral constituencies with an odd number of seats and two (2) in constituencies with an even number of seats to be filled.

However, the condition of parity only applies to municipalities whose number of inhabitants is equal to or greater than twenty thousand (20,000) inhabitants. (Article 176)
