Voluntary political party quotas

In March 2019, the Social Democrat Party changed its Statutes and abolished quota for women, approved through its congress. Prior to the change, there was a provision in the statute according to which at least 40 percent of all candidates for the Chamber of Deputies and regional councils must be people of the opposite sex than the majority of candidates.
