2. Is there a ban on donations from foreign interests to candidates?

Art 11'the party may not accept any donation, privilege, or benefit from an alien, a foreign or international entity, or from any juridical person even if it enjoys the Egyptian nationality.'

Art 27 'It is prohibited to receive any contribution or support in cash or in kind for the election campaign from any Egyptian or foreign juridicial person, or from any foreign state, agency or international organization or any corporation where any foreign person holds an equity stake or from any foreign natural person.'
