16. Is there a limit on the amount a donor can contribute to a political party during an election?

(1) No individual shall make contributions that exceed(a) $1,000 in total in any calendar year to aparticular registered party;(a.1) $1,000 in total in any calendar year tothe registered associations, nomination con-testants and candidates of a particular regis-tered party;(b) $1,000 in total to a candidate for a par-ticular election who is not the candidate of aregistered party; and(c) $1,000 in total to the leadership contes-tants in a particular leadership contest. Regular limit applies. The limit of $1,200 (inflation adjusted) per political party is per calender year.
