38. Is there a ban on vote buying?

Art. 224. - 'Whoever, by gifts in money or in kind, by promises of public or private employment or other special advantages made to influence the vote of one or more electors, shall have obtained or attempted to obtain their vote, either directly or through the business of a third party or will by the same means, determined or attempted to determine one or more of them to abstain, is liable to the penalties provided for in Article 25 of the Law on Combating and Preventing Corruption.' Electoral code 2012
