New formulas to determine the limits were introduced in 2008, after the latest general election. For the presidential and senatorial races scheduled in July 2012, new limits will be established by the end of 2011. The limit for the presidential race will be equal to 20% of the public funding allocated to all political parties for campaign expenses.
