Article 10 (4)
The proponents of the national referendum decide on the question form andcontent. However, the National Assembly can edit the wording.
According to national expertand activist, Daniela Bozhinova: In 2012 apetition of 700000 signatures was submitted in Parliament calling forreferendum on the question: “Do you approve of the development of nuclearenergy in Bulgaria through the construction of the Belene Nuclear Power Plantproject?”
The Parliament changed the question so that (onthe eve of the referendum Jan 2013) it read “Do you approve of the developmentof nuclear energy in Bulgaria through the construction of A NEW NUCLEAR POWERSTATION?” Thus the ruling majority has allowed itself space for interpretation infavor of a different nuke lobby.
