In the case of collection of 500,000 signatures, the Legislation checks the proposals automatically (number of signatures). See Article 63 of the Law on Nationwide Referendum.

 

In the case 100,000 signatures:

The Speaker of the Sejm, afterseeking the opinion of the Presidium of the Sejm, may refer any bills or draftresolutions which raise doubts as to their consistency with law, includingEuropean Union law or basic principles of legislative technique, to theLegislative Committee for its opinion. The Committee may, by a 3?5 majorityvote in the presence of at least half of the number of members of theCommittee, find the bill (draft resolution) inadmissible. The Speaker of theSejm may not initiate the proceedings in relation to any bill (draftresolution) which has been found inadmissible.
