Check for constitutionality or legality of initiatives

1. The Bureau of Congress (Mesa del Congreso willexamine the documentation presented and will report about its admission in a 15days time. The resolution adopted by the Bureau of Congress will be notified tothe Commission that had presented the Citizens' legislative initiative and willalso be published, according with the Standing Orders of Congress.

2. Againstthe decision of the Bureau of Congress deciding not to admit the citizens?initiative, the Commission that presents the initiative can appeal forprotection to the Constitutional Court (recurso de amparo). If theConstitutional Court decides that the citizens? legislative initiative shouldbe admitted, then the proceedings continue in the Congress.
