ARTICLE XIII

GENERALPROVISIONS

 

Section 3.

Citizens mayenact or repeal national laws, except appropriations, by initiative. Aninitiative petition shall contain the text of the proposed law or of the lawsought to be repealed and be signed by not less than ten percent (10%) of theregistered voters. An initiative petition shall take effect if approved at thenext general election by a majority of the persons voting on the initiative. Alaw enacted by initiative or a repeal of a law by initiative may not be vetoedby the President. A law enacted or repealed by initiative may be subsequentlyamended, repealed or reenacted only by another initiative pursuant to theprovisions of this section.

 

Palauan National Code Annotated Title 23 section 2006 refers toconstitutional initiatives being included ‘on the ballot in the nextquadrennial general election’.
