Article 59.

(1)Subject to the provisions of subsections (6)and (7) of this section. if the Speaker receives a petition calling for theremoval of an elected member of the Maneaba ni Maungatabu signed by a majorityof the persons who were registered as electors, at the time of the lastelection of that member, in the electoral district from which that member waslast elected, he shall send the petition forthwith to the Electoral Commission.
