118. (1) At the conclusion of the trial of arepresentation petition in respect of an appointment to the Senate, the Courtshall determine whether the person whose appointment was questioned was validlyappointed or not, and shall forthwith certify in writing the determination tothe President and to the President of the Senate.

(2) At the conclusion of the trial of a representationpetition in respect of an election or return, the Court shall—

(a) determine whether the person whose election or returnis questioned, or any and what other person, was duly returned or elected orwhether the election was void;
