Rules for the Counting of the Votes

125.—(1) Any candidate or the election agent of acandidate may, at the conclusion of any count, request the returning officer tore-examine and recount all or any of the papers dealt with during that count,and the returning officer shall re-examine and recount such papers accordinglywithout making any alterations in the arrangement of the papers in the variousparcels, save where such alterations may be necessary in consequence of anyerror discovered in the recount. Nothing in this subsection shall make itobligatory on the returning officer to re-examine or recount the same parcel ofpapers more than once.

132.— (6) Any party to a petition may appeal on a questionof law to the Supreme Court against a decision of the High Court on thepetition and subject to the foregoing the decision of the High Court shall befinal and not appealable.

18. (1) At any stageof the trial of a petition the court may, if it so thinks proper, on its ownmotion or on the application of any party to the petition, state a case for theopinion of the Supreme Court on any question of law arising at the trial.
