Art. 33 (1): If no dispute concerning the validity ofthe electoral process is filed by any of the candidates to the Registry of theConstitutional Court within eight days after the first comprehensive tabulationof the reults was published, the Constitutional Court declares elected the Presidentof the Republic

Art. 93(1): The Constitutional Court is competent on constitutional and electoral mattersand cases regarding fundamental rights and freedoms.

Art. 184: Under the conditions and deadlines laid downin Article 33, paragraph 2 of the Constitution, any candidate in the electionmay challenge the validity of the electoral process in the form of a petitionto the President of the Constitutional Court.

According to Article 155, paragraph 1, of theConstitution, pending the establishment of the Constitutional Court and theCourt of Auditors, the Supreme Court remains competent to adjudicate casesfalling within the jurisdiction conferred to such courts respectively. Thus,the Supreme Court acts as a Constitutional Court in cases of electoraldisputes.
