DETERMINATION OF QUESTIONS AS TO ELECTION

32.- […]

2. The Court of Appeal shall have exclusive jurisdictionto hear and determine any question as to the validity of an election of aPresident in so far as that question depends upon the qualification of anyperson for election or the interpretation of this Chapter, and the decision ofthat Court under this subsection shall be final.

 

Comment: The Court ofAppeal is one of the separate bodies that make up the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court of Judicature is made up of TheCourt of Appeal and the High Court, as is provided under section 99 of theConstitution which states: “There shallbe a Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago consisting of a High Court and aCourt of Appeal with such jurisdiction and powers as conferred on these Courtsrespectively by this Constitution or any other law.”
