BERMUDA CONSTITUTION ORDER 1968
Section 17:
“(1)There shall be a Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Bermuda who shall beappointed by Her Majesty by Commission under Her Sign Manual and Signet andshall hold office during Her Majesty’s pleasure.”
Comment
Bermudais a British overseas territory. The executive authority is vested on the Queenand is exercised on her behalf by an appointed Governor. There is a bicamerallegislature consisting of a Senate, which is composed of 11 members appointedby the Governor, and the House of Assembly, which has 36 elected deputies.
