Constitution of Gambia, section 3:

“Any registered political party which has participated in the electionof a President or an independent candidate who has participated in such anelection may apply to the Supreme Court to determine the validity of theelection of a President by filling a petition within ten days of thedeclaration of the result of the election'.

PART I - PRELIMINARY

“Court” means the Supreme Court established underthe provisions of the Constitution;

Part VII: Elections petitions and Civil Proceedings

 

A petition complaining of an undue election underthe provision of this Decree (hereinafter called an “election petition”) may,within thirty days from the date of the declaration of the result of theelection be presented to the Court in its civil jurisdiction by any one or moreof the following persons: (a) a person who voted or had a right to vote at theelection to which the petition relates; (b) a person who claims to have had aright to be returned or elected at such election, or (c) a person who allegeshimself to have been a candidate at such election.
