48. (1) There shall be a President of Bangladeshwho shall be elected by members of Parliament in accordance with law.

11. Count of votes and declaration of result.-(1) After the close of the poll, the Election Commissioner shall, within thespecified time, publicly count the votes.

(2) The Election Commissioner shall declare thecandidate who has received the heighest number of votes to be elected.

(3) If there is equality of votes between thecandidates, the Election Commissioner shall determine the result of theelection by lottery.

(4) The declaration of the Election Commissionerwith respect to the result of the election of the President shall be final.
