Article 2. 9. “Political campaignparticipant” means a person who seeks to be elected or a referendum issue to beaccepted or rejected and who is registered by the Central Electoral Commissionin accordance with the procedure laid down by this Law

 

Article3. 1. Political campaign participants may beindependent and represented by the right to receive donations and incurpolitical campaign expenditure.

2. The following may be registered onlyas an independent political campaign participant:

1) a political party;

2) a potential candidate;

3) a self-nominated candidate;

4) referendum initiators;

5) referendum opponents.

Article5. 6. A decision on registration as an independentparticipant of the political campaign shall be taken by the Chairman of theCentral Electoral Commission or the Commission member authorised by him notlater than within 3 working days from the date of the receipt of all the documentsreferred to in this Article.

7.Refusal to register a person as an independent political campaign participantmust be justified. If a person does not agree with the adopted decision, heshall have the right to appeal against the said decision to the Central ElectoralCommission. The Central Electoral Commission must examine the decisionwithin 3 working days. The decision of the Central Electoral Commission may beappealed against to the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania not laterthan within five working days from its adoption.
