Chapter 11: Penalties

Article 117:

(a)    A person who falsifies or unlawfullyalters or destroy a Voters’ Register or voters’ list shall be liable toimprisonment for a term of seven years or a fine of 10,000 pounds. Where theoffence is committed by a person in charge of the preparation, safekeeping,guarding or exhibiting of the register or list, such person shall be liable toimprisonment for a term of fourteen years or to a fine of 10,000 pounds.

 

Article 118: A person who falsifies orunlawfully alters or destroys any voters’ list delivered by the Minister ofInterior to the Central Committee or by the Central Committee to a pollingCommittee shall be liable to imprisonment for a term of seven years or to afine of 10,000 pounds. Where the offence is committed by a member of anElection Committee or by a person in charge of the safekeeping or guarding ofthe list or in charge of a polling –box or the maintenance of order at thepolling-station, such person shall be liable to imprisonment for a term offourteen years or to a fine of 10,000 pounds.
