Título III, Capítulo I
Artículo 15: La base para elaborar el registro electoral, será la información del Documento Único de Identidad que el Registro Nacional de las Personas Naturales está en la obligación de proporcionar al Tribunal, en la forma establecida en el artículo 17.
Artículo 16: El Tribunal, al recibir la información a que se refiere el artículo anterior, realizará sobre esta base, la inscripción del ciudadano o ciudadana en el registro electoral, previa validación que haga de la misma, de conformidad con lo dispuesto en el artículo 31 de este Código.
The National Registry of Natural Persons provides the Supreme Electoral Tribunal with updates on those individuals who have received their Unique Identification Document, the process by which they become eligible to vote. It is then the responsibility of the Tribunal to create the formal Electoral Register (see Título III, Capítulo I, Artículo 15 & 16 of the Electoral Code).
