Article 6. Functions of Electoral Commission
6.1 The Electoral Commission has the general duty, responsibility and authority to formulate policy, the registration of voters for the election of members of Parliament and the conduct of elections in accordance with this Act, including responsibility and authority with respect to the following matters: (a) registration and transfer of registration of voters;
Article 37. Roll of Voters
37.1 There is a Roll for Nauru to be kept by the Electoral Commissioner that contains the name of all voters
37.2 The Roll is classified into Districts with each voter’s name entered into the District the voter has registered in under sections 39 or 45.
37.3 The Roll is to be updated from time to time following consultations between the Electoral Commissioner and the Registrar for Births, Deaths and Marriages.
Article 39. Automatic Registration of Voters
39.1 A person who is registered in the Register for Births at the office of the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages is, upon attaining the age of twenty, automatically entered into the Roll of voters maintained under section 37 of this Act.
