The Citizens’ Register falls under the authority of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, and it is responsible for the creation of the electoral roll (see Título Dos, Capítulo Dos, Artículo 155 of the Law of Elections and Political Parties [LEPP]). The information used to compile the roll is provided by the National Registry of Persons that oversees inscription and provides voters with the identification document necessary to carry out civil acts (see Capítulo II, Articulo 6 of the Law of the National Registry of Persons).
