The National Civic Registry falls under the authority of the Electoral Court (see Sección II, Capítulo II, Artículo 12° of Law 7.690 of the National Civic Registry). It is used to produce the electoral roll on a continuous basis. Changes to one’s civic credential can be made in person at the departmental electoral offices (source).
