If electoral register is created by the EMB, what type of technology used for collecting registration data?

At the end of the half-yearly revisions of the electoral registers (30 June and 31 December) the Central Directorate for Electoral Services collects from municipalities statistical data on the number of new entries in the lists as well as the number of sections (poll stations), the number of people turning 18 in the following semester and the Italian voters living abroad.

This data is analyzed for statistical purposes, especially during elections and are collected and published.

The Central Directorate shall also acquire, for each municipality, statistical data relating to changes made to the electoral lists with dynamic revisions; these changes consist of cancellations and registration of members and are implemented every six months on the 31 of January and on the 31 of July each year.

Alla chiusura delle revisioni semestrali delle liste elettorali (30 giugno e 31 dicembre) la Direzione Centrale dei Servizi Elettorali raccoglie dai comuni i dati statistici relativi al numero degli iscritti nelle liste nonch? il numero delle sezioni e dei fabbricati che le ospitano, il numero edgli iscritti che compiono il 18? anno di et? nel semestre successivo a quello interessato ed il numero degli elettori italiani residenti all'estero.

Tali dati vengono elaborati per fini statistici, soprattutto in occasione delle consultazioni elettorali e sono raccolti in pubblicazioni.

La Direzione Centrale provvede inoltre ad acquisire, sempre per comune, i dati statistici relativi alle variazioni apportate alle liste elettorali con le revisioni dinamiche; tali variazioni consistono in cancellazioni ed iscrizioni di iscritti e vengono apportate ogni sei mesi, al 31 gennaio e al 31 luglio di ogni anno.

The voter registration is extracted from population register. Data are collected on computer off-line and then sent to the Central Directorate for Electoral Services.
