How technology is used in relation to paper voter lists?

The only document used for verification is the voter’s card.

According to Article 66 of the Electoral Law of Ethiopia Amendment Proclamation No.532/2007, once the voter gets to the polling station, s/he shall hand his/her elector's card to the electoral officers of the polling station, whereupon they shall proceed to verify the identity by examining the card.
