Chittagong City Corporation Election(2010):

EVM was first introduced in national level in theelection of Chittagong City Corporation held in 2010. Chief ElectionCommissioner (CEC) ATM Shamsul Huda introduced the EVM in Zamalkhan ward as apilot project. There was 80 machines used in 24 centers. He was saying the systemcan help ease the electoral process, quicker announcement of the result,lessening the number of post-polls violence, reducing the election managementcharges and administrative glitches which will meet the internationalstandards.

Comilla City Corporation Election (2011):

Bangladesh's smallest city corporation, Comilla CityCorporation went to the vote without any ballot paper to mark the firstfull-fledged electronic election in Bangladesh. Comilla election was the firsttime when all voters of an election used machines to vote. The commission used421 machines in 65 polling centers and almost all voters said voting with themachines was a lot easier and quicker. Polling officers too felt it easy towork with the machines. Also the contestants expressed their satisfaction withregard to the EVMs.
