The 2014 general election was the first time that overseas voters were able to return their voting papers by securely uploading them to the Electoral Commission’s Upload Voting Paper (UVP) system. The Commission received 22,333 votes from overseas voters who chose to use the UVP system. This represented 55.6% of the 40,132 total votes received from overseas voters.
