Guinea has never used electronic voting, the systems are still manual. In the voting procedure given by the electoral code, Article 78; Upon entering the voting room the voter must present their voter registration card which is stamped or referred to in the box provided for this purpose with reference to the date of the election. Voters must also prove his/her identity by presenting one of the documents listed in section L21. The voter shall affix the stamp of his/her left thumb in the place reserved for this purpose on the electoral roll for trimming or signature. These formalities having been satisfied, the voter takes an envelope and a newsletter (ballot) and goes alone in the voting booth where s/he places the ballot or list of their choice in the envelope. The voter then notes that s/he holds only one envelope. President also notes without touching the envelope that the voter him/herself introduced the ballot into the ballot box.
