If e-voting is NOT currently being used, what is the current status of e-voting in general?

So far, e-voting has been used for sub-national elections,  and for military voters though the EMB is not responsible for it. The AEC conducts federal elections in accordance with the Electoral Act, as legislated by the Australian Parliament. If the legislation was to be changed to provide for voting, or aspects of voting, by electronic means, the AEC would be ready and able to implement this change. For more information, read this.
