Thailand’selectoral commission introduces new electronic voting machines

The secretary of Thailand’s electoralcommission has announced that the electronic voting machines developed inThailand will be ready for the next general elections.

 

According to the secretary of thecommission, Mr. Puchong, the machines have been designed to fit inside alight suitcase. They are very compact and easy to transport. The buttonsused to cast ballots are bigger than those in the earlier versions of thesystem and have the capacity to register as many as 30 candidates.

EC set to introduce electronic ballots

TheElection Commission plans to have electronic voting machines developed in Thailandready for use at the next general election, EC secretary-general PuchongNutrawong said.

Thefourth generation electronic voting machine may be used in next generalelection.

He said the equipment is being developedin coordination with Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd.

There are discussions and plans in Thailand to use e-voting, however this has never been materialized yet.
