If e-voting is NOT currently being used, what is the current status of e-voting in general?

Electronic voting hasnever been utilized in Ethiopia. Statistics for the 2010 general elections showthat manual voting was still being used in the country.
However, conclusionsdrawn from a research paper where two government officials were interviewedreveal that it is hardly possible to implement electronic voting in thecountry. According to them, Two of the government official respondents knewabout e-voting and how to get experience from countries which deployed thesystem. The government officials claimed implementing e-voting in the presentpolitical and technological context of the country is hardly possible. Hence,the government does not have a short term vision to implement it. One ofgovernment official respondent believes that lack of trust in the e-votingprocess. Twoof the respondents prioritize that lack of infrastructure, needsmore funding to implement, requires highly skilled persons and that a lack ofawareness of the people were the main factors that will hinder implementinge-voting in the present context of the country
