If e-voting is NOT currently being used, what is the current status of e-voting in general?

Introducing e-voting for national elections requires a legal amendment, but the national EMB has already designed and developed a prototype of an e-voting device and conducted studies aiming at assessing its feasibility. A pilot test supposedly took place in 2012 in all 300 electoraldistricts of Mexico, with a proposed total of 1200 machines (4 per district).And, it was not binding, since it really was only to have a sense of citizens’perception of the possibility of using such machines.
