According to the Electoral law, Article 97,the counting begins immediately after the polls are closed, and is conductedwithout interruption until full completion. The Exercise is public and takesplace in the following manner:

Theballot box is opened and the number of votes is checked. If this number ishigher than the ones on the list, mention shall be made immediately in theminutes; Members of the polling station do the counting, assisted by tellersappointed by the president from among the electors who can read and writeFrench; The counting is done on a single table or multiple tables joined onwhich President allocates folds. At each table, one of the tellers unfolds theballot and hands it  to another teller. Thelatter reads aloud and shows the vote to the public. The vote cast on theballot is dropped on the table by one of the tellers and then raised by amember of the Polling Station on the tally sheets; The tables on which thecounting is done are arranged so as to be visible to voters. When combining theelections, the same procedure is followed for the second urn.

The results are then announced publicly,according to Article 99, Article 99: Immediately after the votes, the electionresults are made ​​public and posted on the premises of the vote. In thepublication of the results of voting stations, the mention of their temporarynature must be indicated subject to the penalties provided for in section 144of this code .Mention of this result is given in the minutes of voting processwritten by the president and secretary of the polling station.
