Hungary has been running IT systems since 1989 in order to supervise the processes of general elections, from setting up districts through the creation of electoral registers to determining the final result. Several systems operate parallel with and supplementing one another in the areas that enjoy IT systems facilitating the election procedure, in the interest of guaranteeing that information provision, governance, as well as other special needs are met. The Integrated Election Services System is a complex system that has a shared database and data set, and is comprised of modules in order to, among others, tally the preliminary results. There is access to the Integrated Election Services System at Local Election Office (municipal) level.
