Votes are manually counted at the pollingstation and the results are provided by telephone to the Returning Officer’sheadquarters. Electoral officials at theReturning Officer’s headquarters are responsible for entering the results intothe Electoral Commission’s Election Management System (EMS). EMS is the computer system used to processpreliminary and official results. Results are reviewed foraccuracy at the Electoral Commission’s National Office using EMS.
