The Election Commission (EC) has officially announced a record voter turnout of 85% instead of the estimated 80% earlier mentioned. In addition, the EC confirmsthat 46.5% of the votes went to Barisan Nasional (BN), the lowest share ofthe popular vote ever.

ST) – Malaysia’s Election Commissionon Wednesday gazetted the official results of the 13th General Election, theofficial Bernama news agency reported, citing the commission’s chairman AbdulAziz Mohd Yusof.

 

 

Candidates and political partieswho are dissatisfied with the outcome of the May 5 polls have 21 days to fileobjections or petitions, starting from Thursday, said Mr Abdul Aziz in astatement.

He added that petitions can befiled at high courts in the respective states.
