A presidential election in Guinea was held under the two-round system: the first round on 27 June 2010, and the second round, originally scheduled for 7 November an initial date of 18 July and many other postponements.

The final results of the first round were announced on 20 July 2010 after confirmation by the Supreme Court, which annulled about one-third of the votes originally cast.

A big turnout was reported for the second round. Early results (from counting in the districts) for the second round indicated a close race, with final results due when all ballots were brought to Conakry for counting. The National Independent Election Commission (CENI) announced the preliminary results on the evening of 15 November, with Cond? the winner with 52.52% of the vote on a 67.87% turnout.

Legislative elections were held in Guinea on 28 September 2013 after numerous delays. Official results were announced three weeks later, on 18 October 2013. President Alpha Cond?'s party, the Rally of the Guinean People (RPG) won a plurality of seats in the National Assembly, with 53 out of 114; it thus was unable to obtain an outright majority,[33][34] although its allies won an additional seven seats. The opposition parties won 53 seats, and opposition leaders denounced the results as fraudulent.
