In the last national election, how many days did it take for the EMB to announce certified results?

Article 70 of law Number 03/2010/OL of 18/06/2010, Organic Law Repealing the Organic Law nº17/2003 of 07/7/2003 governing presidential and legislative elections as amended and complemented provides for Proclamation of electoral results and its timing, the NEC is mandated with the responsibility of declaring provisional and final results, provisional results shall be done in a period not exceeding five days after the closure of the polls and it shall declare official results in a period not exceeding 7 days after the declaration of provisional results.

Article 70 of the organic law is clear on such provisions; the provisions in the presidential elections do not differ from those of the parliamentary elections.

During the Presidential (2010) and Legislative (2013) elections certified results were established within 2 days.
For the 2013 elections provisional results were to be announced no later than 20 September 2013, while final election results were announced before 25 September 2013, in line with Article 136 of the 2013 ‘Instructions to the National Electoral Commission’ and Article 70 of law Number 03/2010/OL of 18/06/2010, Organic Law Repealing the Organic Law nº17/2003 of 07/7/2003 governing presidential and legislative elections as amended and complemented.
