OnNovember 24, 2010, the IEC announced the final, certified results of theSeptember 18 Wole- si Jirga elections. At a press conference at the IEC mediacenter, before assembled international and domestic observers and prominentmembers of the international community, IEC chairman Manawi, claimed success forthe IEC throughout the 2010 electoral process in restoring the cred- ibilityand maintaining the independence of the commission despite enormous externalpressure.
