Presidential: Paragraph 69 of the African Union Ghana 2012 election observation report states that the Electoral Commission announced the results of the presidential elections on 9th December 2012 http://www.auelections.org/documents/African%20Union%20Elections%20Observation%20Report%20%20Ghana%20December%202012.pdf-

 

Legislative: Article 40 of the public elections regulations, 2012 C.I 75, provides for declaration and publication of election results. It states that immediately after the results of the poll for all the polling stations in the constituency have been given to the Returning Officer, the returning officer shall in the presence of the candidates or the representatives  of the candidates or not more than two counting  agents appointed by each candidate, assemble the results from all the polling stations without recounting except where there is a challenge by a candidate or counting agent, give public notice of the total number of votes cast for each candidate and publicly declare as elected in a parliamentary election the candidate who had the highest votes, endorse on the writ the name of the person elected and forward the writ to the commission.
