Article 74. (1) Upon conduct of elections of NationalRepresentatives, of President and Vice President of the Republic and of Membersof the European Parliament for the Republicof Bulgaria, the heads of diplomatic missionsand consular posts of the Republic of Bulgaria shall establishvoting sections abroad observing the legislation of the receiving State.

Bulgarian citizen abroadmay also vote in special polling stations in Bulgarian embassies and consulatesabroad.

The vote turnout abroad in presidential elections isusually less than one percent of the vote in the country and has no actualeffect on the result.

No voting abroad is allowed in local elections

Bulgarian citizens who want to vote abroad will beable to apply to do so at our foreign missions, including during the holidays.To this end, Bulgaria’s embassies and consulates will organise special postboxes or arrange that personnel at the missions do duty shifts
