Section 1.2 Electoral System

Elections to the office to of President and Vice President of the Republic of Liberia shall be conducted on a two round electoral system. The first round shall be determined by an absolute majority (50% plus one) of the valid votes cast. If no candidates obtain an absolute majority in the first ballot, a second ballot shall be conducted on the second Tuesday following the announcement of the results of the first ballot.
